Following a report that President Donald Trump’s planned trip to Ireland in November have been canceled, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said plans surrounding the visit were still being finalized.
“The President will travel to Paris in November as previously announced. We are still finalizing whether Ireland will be a stop on that trip. As details are confirmed we will let you know,” Sanders said in a statement.
Trump is scheduled to travel to Europe for Armistice Day commemorations in France on Nov. 11.
The comment follows a report by the Independent.ie saying that the visit has been canceled. The piece went on to say that the entire European itinerary is now under review — but the Irish element is set to be canceled.
The visit to Ireland would be the first time Trump has visited the country since becoming president.
