A gunman has stormed a provincial land clearance office in northern Vietnam, killing one official and injuring four others, police say.
The attack happened in Thai Binh province. The man was said to have been unhappy about the authorities’ decision to clear land owned by his family.
Local media reported that the man then returned to his village in the same province and killed himself.
Disagreement over land has led to a number of violent incidents in Vietnam.
Last year six people were injured when armed farmers resisted efforts to clear land in another northern province.
