Police told the Bangkok Post the victims were farm workers who had been shot in separate attacks that were likely the work of the separatist group Barisan Revolusi Nasional, BRN, but did not rule out personal disputes as a motive.
The incidents occurred at the same time the BRN unveiled a new spokesman on the Internet. The Post said a YouTube propaganda video starred Adam Muhammad Noor, whom the BRN identified as its “staff vice-delegate.”
Noor’s debut apparently included no new twists in the conflict between the BRN and the Thai government. The Post said Noor reiterated BRN demands outlined a month ago, including the presence of international observers at the negotiations and mediation by Malaysia.
